We faced many hardships in our childhood, sometimes without even a pencil,” says Walter Montes. “Now, our mission is to bring back the opportunities God gave us and help these children experience the chance to attend school.”
Since its establishment in Charlotte, the Happy Backpack program has brought smiles to countless children who, for the first time, have seen their dream of attending school become a reality.
Filled with backpacks, school supplies, Bibles, and clothing, boxes from this faith-based organization have traveled to several impoverished countries in Central America, delivering gifts that were collected over several months in the Queen’s City.
Dedicated volunteers work tirelessly on the program, traveling across different areas of Charlotte to collect school supplies, clothes, and shoes while sharing the word of God. Their efforts aim to bring joy and hope to many children in need, making a lasting impact on their lives.
